One of our prestigious clients “Equipment manufacturing” is looking for Candidate in “Mechanical Engineer – Piping Engineering”
Primary Location : Chennai
Qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in piping design for the process industry.
- Proven experience working within the OEM supplier environment.
- Proficiency in plant 3D Modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, Cadmatic).
- Strong understanding of piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME B31.3).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with piping stress analysis software is a plus.

Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed piping layouts and specifications for process lines, adhering to relevant codes and standards.
- Perform piping calculations for pressure drop, flow rate, and stress analysis.
- Utilize plant 3D Modeling software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, Cadmatic) to create and maintain accurate piping models.
- Conduct constructability reviews to identify and mitigate potential installation challenges.
- Prepare piping material lists, bills of quantities, and other engineering documentation.
- Collaborate with process engineers, equipment vendors, and other disciplines to ensure project integration.
- Support the procurement process by preparing technical specifications for piping materials and components.
- Provide technical guidance and support to manufacturing and construction teams.
- Stay up to date on the latest industry trends and technologies in piping design.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience as a Plant Layout and Piping Engineer.
- Good experience in Pulp and Paper/Water Treatment based projects.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in plant layout and piping engineering deliverables.
- Familiarity with European/ASME Piping Codes & Standards.
- Good understanding of inter-disciplinary interfaces.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D.
- Knowledge of piping & valve material specifications.
- Experience with Cadmatic will be an added advantage.
- Experience on international projects will be an added advantage.
