Position: Specialist– Metrology
Work Experience: 3-7 year
Education- BE/ BTech
Role Responsibilities
- Understand and identify new metrology and materials testing instruments based on new product requirements, procurement of new instruments, Collaborates with appropriate Ramped, production and process engineering staff to understand the material specifications sought for a particular application or product.
- Manage and maintain instruments, records, calibration schedule. Maintain test request and test logs, prepare & issue test reports. Address the testing requirements through standard SOP for maintain traceability. Test sample management
- Understand CTQ parameters, measure CTQ and provide inputs to design for maintaining production quality. Identifies, selects, and recommends materials based on weight, strength, heat and cold, tolerance, cost, durability etc. Observe or participates in product testing process as appropriate.
- Measure CTQ parameters to quantify wear and tear due to endurance or reliability testing, define acceptance limits based on experimental limits, Measures performance of various materials in accordance with specifications.
- Prepare in-house standards and SOP for material testing. For observed failures, gathers data and analyzes using various root cause analysis tools
- Must have hands on experience in testing of material categories like Ferrous, Magnet, Copper, Steel,Sheetmetal, casting, Forging, ABS, Polymer, Chemicals & solvents, Adhesives, Paint resin, hardner,enamles, oil,grease, Gases, Rubber, Nylon, Teflon, PCB cladding, fabric, coating agents, chrome,etc., materials
- Must have hands on experience in performing, hardness, surface finish, coating thickness, gloss,Spectrophotometery, abrasion, peel off, scratch resistance, Stress, Strain, BH curve, Thermal,Chemical,adhesion strength etc tests. Experience of working with CMM,UTM and other various instrument will be an added advantage.
