Educational Qualification : B.E/ B Tech in Electrical, Electronics/Instrumentation, E&TC, M Tech in Power Electronics (preferred)
Job Role & Responsibilities
Role: Power Electronics Engineer
Technical/ Functional:
- Design and develop power electronics platforms for an electric vehicle including AC to DC (On Board Charger), Charging Box, Charging cable with earth leakage detection and DC to DC converters as per performance/ quality/ cost/ weight targets and plants manufacturing requirement
- Establish product specifications, derive system architectures and converter topologies for various applications stated above
- Layout and packaging of electronic parts in vehicle DMU considering all aspects of functionality and manufacturability
- Perform various simulations and analyses (e.g. worst case, Monte Carlo, tolerance stack up, power dissipation, stress etc.), in supporting the selection of power components, system architectures and selected power conversion topologies
- Keep track of global trends in relevant technology, regulations and develop long term road maps and appropriate work plan
- Drive designs of the power components such as power switches, gate drivers, magnetics, bulk capacitors, and power filters
- Work with cross functional teams for functional safety, thermal, packaging, EMI/EMC, FMEA, Worst case analysis
- Engage product development teams from concept to production including design proposal, design reviews, test plans, and test results review

Specific expertise required for functional area:
- Familiar with electric vehicle standards and regulations including ISO26262 functional safety and CISPR EMC and familiar with automotive Product Development Process
- Shall have understanding DFSS methodology
- Hands on experience in design of On Board Chargers and DC/DC for industrial or aerospace or military drives, battery electric or hybrid electric vehicle systems
- Proficiency in electronics circuit design, schematics capture, and PCB layout
- Hands on experience in working on common lab equipment’s (Oscilloscopes, Digital Multi-meter’s, Network analyzers, Spectrum analyzers, etc.)
