Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in the paper industry. As an Instrumentation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, installing, and maintaining the instrumentation and control systems used in our paper manufacturing processes. Your expertise will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of our equipment and processes while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Instrumentation System Design: Design and develop instrumentation and control systems for paper manufacturing processes, including sensors, transmitters, controllers, and data acquisition systems.
- Equipment Selection and Specification: Select appropriate instruments, control valves, and other equipment required for specific applications, considering factors such as accuracy, reliability, durability, and compatibility with existing systems.
- Installation and Commissioning: Oversee the installation, calibration, and commissioning of instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and specifications. Collaborate with technicians and contractors to ensure proper installation and functionality.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Conduct routine maintenance activities, including inspections, calibration, and repairs of instrumentation systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Process Optimization: Analyze process data and collaborate with operations and maintenance teams to identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost reduction. Propose and implement appropriate instrumentation and control system modifications or upgrades.
- Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during system design, installation, and maintenance. Conduct risk assessments, develop safety procedures, and implement safety measures to minimize hazards and protect personnel and equipment.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation, including instrument datasheets, manuals, and technical reports. Prepare comprehensive reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and system modifications. Update technical drawings and schematics as necessary.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, operators, and management, to support ongoing projects, address issues, and drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills :
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience working as an Instrumentation Engineer in the paper industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of instrumentation principles, control systems, and industrial automation.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations (e.g., ISA, NEC, IEC).
- Proficiency in using instrumentation design and simulation software.
- Experience in PLC programming and HMI design is highly desirable.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or as part of a team.
