Job Responsibilities
- Understanding of microcontroller architecture and RTOS fundamentals.
- Good understanding of version management tools – SVN.
- Experience with issue tracking tools – Redmine preferred.
- Build toolchains configuration and operation.
- Experience with PLM tools – preferably TeamCenter.
- Strong logical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred add-ons:
- Exposure to Embedded Systems development workflow.
- Good to have exposure to Database handling.
The selected candidate shall be responsible for creating and managing multiple variant configurations for hosting embedded software intended for automotive control units. He/ she shall work closely with the development, vehicle deployment and quality teams for establishing release checklists for software release. For each development program, the selected candidate shall monitor the overall compliance with respect to these checklists, and shall report non-compliances to his/ her supervisor/ design lead for the project. The selected candidate shall also participate in preparation of design verification plan [DVP] for the Control Unit in consultation with the development team. He/ She shall maintain the DVP and liaise with Test and Verification, and Vehicle Integration groups to ensure that DVP is being validated and verified as appropriate. Therefore, the selected candidate shall support any verification or validation effort to ensure that the development process is being followed to ensure quality.
The selected person shall be handling all software releases for all control units developed in-house into the version control system as well as to the PLM system, and other relevant databases/ servers after running all checks in the release checklist. He/ she shall serve as primary contact person in the event of released software deployment issues at control unit manufacturing, vehicle manufacturing, or field. As such, the selected candidate shall closely interact with service and quality teams and feed requirements back to the development teams for refining processes and/ or tools. He/ she shall serve as single point of contact for the enterprise quality team to identify root cause and resolution of any field issues for released control units. Insofar as these issues pertain to software, he/she will make necessary changes to checklists/ SDP/ DVP so that future releases can account for this.
